How FileWalla Works

Three powerful features, each designed to keep your sensitive client data safe. Here's exactly how to use them.

⏱️ Takes about 2 minutes

πŸ” How to Send a Secure File

Share sensitive documents with clients and colleagues β€” encrypted end-to-end, virus-scanned, and automatically shredded when you decide.

1

Log in to your FileWalla dashboard

Sign in at filewalla.ca with your email and password. If you have two-factor authentication enabled, enter your Google Authenticator code.

2

Click "Send File" and choose your document

Select the file from your computer. FileWalla automatically scans it for viruses using multi-tier scanning (ClamAV + phpMussel) before encrypting it with AES-256 encryption.

3

Choose your recipient

Select an existing FileWalla member, or enter an email address to share with a client via the Guest Portal. Non-members get a secure link β€” no account required.

4

Set expiry and send

Choose how long the file stays available (1 day to 30 days). After expiry, the file is automatically shredded β€” deleted permanently with no recovery possible. Your recipient gets a notification with a secure download link.

5

Track delivery in your dashboard

See when your file was downloaded, by whom, and verify the integrity checksum. Your full audit trail is preserved for compliance.

πŸ›‘οΈ AES-256 Encryption Military-grade encryption protects files at rest and in transit
πŸ”¬ Virus Scanning Dual-engine scanning catches threats before they reach recipients
⏰ Auto-Shred Files are permanently destroyed after your chosen expiry date
πŸ“‹ Audit Trail Full download history with timestamps and integrity verification
⏱️ Takes about 1 minute

πŸ”₯ How to Send a Read & Burn Message

Send a self-destructing message or file to anyone β€” even non-members. The data shreds itself after viewing. No trace left behind.

1

Go to "Read & Burn" in your dashboard

Click the Read & Burn option from your FileWalla dashboard. This opens the secure ephemeral messaging tool.

2

Write your message and set a passphrase

Type your confidential message and create a mandatory passphrase. You can also attach a file. The passphrase is required β€” share it with your recipient by phone or text, never by email.

3

Set view limits and expiry

Choose how many times the message can be viewed (1–5 views) and how long it stays alive (1 hour to 7 days). After either limit is reached, the message self-destructs.

4

Share the secure link

FileWalla generates a unique one-time URL. Send this link to your recipient by email, text, or chat. They'll need the passphrase you set to unlock and read the message.

5

Message self-destructs automatically

Once the view limit is reached or the expiry time passes, the message and any attachments are permanently destroyed. There's no way to recover them β€” for you, your recipient, or anyone else.

πŸ”‘ Mandatory Passphrase Two-layer security β€” the link alone isn't enough
πŸ‘οΈ View Limits Control exactly how many times your message can be read
πŸ’£ Auto-Destruct Data shreds itself β€” no manual cleanup needed
🌐 No Account Needed Recipients don't need a FileWalla account to view
⏱️ Takes about 3 minutes

πŸ‘₯ How to Set Up Your Client Portal

Give your clients a simple, secure way to send you files β€” without needing their own FileWalla account.

1

Go to "Client Portal" in your dashboard

From your FileWalla dashboard, click the Client Portal section. This is where you create secure upload links for your clients.

2

Create a portal link for your client

Enter your client's name and email. FileWalla generates a unique, secure portal URL specifically for that client.

3

Share the portal link

Send your client their portal link by email. They can bookmark it for repeat use. No account creation, no passwords β€” just a secure upload point.

4

Client uploads files securely

Your client visits the link, drags and drops their files, and submits. Every file is automatically virus-scanned and encrypted before it reaches your account.

5

You receive the files in your dashboard

Portal uploads appear in your dashboard with the client's name clearly labeled. Download, review, and manage everything from one place.

πŸ”— Simple for Clients No sign-up required β€” one click to upload securely
πŸ“‹ Copy Link Button Easily copy and share portal links from your dashboard
πŸ”’ Encrypted Uploads Every file is scanned and encrypted automatically
🏷️ Client Tracking Always know who sent what and when
⏱️ Takes about 5 minutes
